Immigrant Visa Priority Dates for February 2012 Released

Los Angeles immigration attorneys provide information to clientsThe US Department of State has released the immigrant visa priority dates to be used by itself and USCIS for green card cases during February 2012.

In the family based categories, all categories except for the F2B for Mexico advanced. The F2B category for Mexico did not move.

In the employment based categories, all categories except for the Other Worker category for China, either advanced or remained current. The Other Worker category for China did not move.

The Department of State is indicating that it has aggressively advanced the priority dates in the EB2 category for China and India in order to generate demand for those visas in order to ensure that all visas numbers are used in the fiscal year. It further indicates that this action greatly increases the potential for retrogressions later in the fiscal year. In other words, if you have an EB2 case that can be filed now, you need to do so now.
